Ruination #3 is a comic created by Ryan Bis and published by Curious Perspective Comics. The story takes a more exploratory turn but it has enough action to not feel like a set up issue. We are reintroduced to someone we haven’t seen since the beginning and we get a potential update on another character. We get a good look at the motivations of the various members of the Fallen and this pulling of the curtain gives us a more balanced perspective of the conflict. There is good amount of character building through the use of dialogue and actions. The humor and wit we’ve seen previously is still present, and it’s never out of place. Some pages are a bit wordy but it tends to read well. Excessive words are one of prices you pay for having a large cast of main characters. In this issue you’ll see a new world, some new creatures, and have a few laughs. This series hasn’t missed yet.
I’m glad the art in this series far has been consistently good. Last issue we were in ruins and caverns, whereas in this one we hit up a more open space. The special element of the new location as well as the unique creatures that reside there is drawn in way that makes it easy to imagine in real life. The actions look cool and flow nicely with miniscule jumps between key moments. The very expressive faces of the characters help sell their words and although there is some light face sameness, on the whole they maintain some measure of uniqueness. The magic(?) effects are very nice to look at and stand as expected. And this is a beautifully colored comic.

This is a fantasy tale with warring sides and a large cast of characters, all with different motivations and morally resting somewhere in the gray. If any part of that description made your right eyebrow jump you should read this.
