Warbound #2 is a comic created by Marcel Dupree and published by Evoluzione Publishing. This issue picks up right where the last one left off, continuing the evaluation of Mr Warbound by the Doctor Kendra Jones. While the last issue told us of Warbound’s far distant past, this one gives us the story of the last mission he went on before ending up in the asylum where he currently resides. Also significantly featured are two other superheroes, Gaia and Ultimate. Whereas the first issue felt a bit like a pilot episode, this one feels midseason episode with a steep enough cliffhanger to leave us hungry for what’s next.
The art was top-notch in the first issue and that holds true for the second. I’m still a big fan of the work done on the faces. There are strong facial expressions and variance between the different characters. We also get a good glimpse at a few of the costumes for these heroes and they fit the characters well. Nothing too dry but also nothing too gaudy or hard on the eyes.
“Is this worth reading?”
Yes.
“Would I like this?”
If you like superheroes with drama this is for you. There also seems to be hints of a mystery element so if that’s your speed hop in. And if you were looking for a comic starring a black superhero this is a good one to read.
“How old should I be when I read this?”
PG-13.
“Could I get a quote from the comic?”
“It’s alright to stare. I won’t turn you into stone.”
