My name is Benjamin Dean and I currently review comics and write about random bits of media. I used to read comic strips all the time with Garfield being my favorite. The first comic I ever read all the way through was Crisis on Infinite Earths, and that’s only because one of my younger brothers got it from the library and I was either bored or finished with the books I had gotten. I didn’t read comics much(at all, really) after that until I watched the Watchmen movie when I was in college. After that I watched and read Sin City, then I read V for Vendetta and I watched and was disappointed by the movie. Later on I bought a few comics from a Humble Bundle and one of those comics(Tyler Cross) had a sequel that I had to search for which resulted in me seeing more ads for comics. One of the ads I saw a comic for was The Assignment and I purchased it (I think it was on sale) through ComiXology.
ComiXology led me down a DEEP rabbit hole because I was reading everything. Fantasy, sci-fi, comedy, superheroes, it did not matter at all. I used this app for at least three years until they changed things up and it was time for me to move on. While I was languishing in a lack of comics I saw an ad on Instagram for the Kickstarter campaign for Boom Queens 2 and I think Miss Mass #1. At this point I had only used Kickstarter for a dice game I have never played and a card game that is severely unbalanced. So I start checking out all the campaigns and I supported a few here and there, but after a while I started getting an itch for a fix and I had to check out Indiegogo as well. And now I have supported over 340 different successful campaigns. I might have a problem.
