Hollowed #2 is a comic written by Casey Bowker with art by Darius Johnson. Our two detectives finally meet and manage to make some progress on the case. The investigators in question are Vasquez Guerra and Tyler Gorman. You ever see two random guys on a cop show get paired up and they automatically start beefing? That’s what happens here. This is a calm issue with a set up feel as we get two extended arguments and a reveal. It kinda plays out like the scene on Law & Order right after they come back from commercial before they really dig into the case. This is like a glorified character introduction. And they do perform actual detective work. But I highlighted the arguments because nearly every speech bubble is filled with a paragraph. You will have to catch your breath while reading this in your head. So yeah this comic is very wordy. To sum it up, this is a relatively quiet issue whose intentions are to flesh out the characters a bit before the story hopefully kicks up again.
While the last issue was artistically washed out with certain colors popping on the page; this one is colored more like your average comic. The main location is a squad room but the backgrounds don’t show many details. The faces are still drawn with good detail so the expressions still stand out and are noticeable. The bodies however can get unporportional real quick. Besides a fist hitting a desk there is no action to be seen.
