Babylon Working #2 is a comic created by Marcel Dupree & Joshua Metzger with art by Mannix Francisco. Things go from bad to catastrophic for everybody on this moon and it quickly turns into survival of the lucky. Our ladies and the onlookers were already in a tough spot before this. Due to the nature of this issue we don’t get much in the way of character development for our leads but we do get an earful of info about another key player in all this. Going into this issue I thought I had the general direction of the plot figured out but after new motives and goals were revealed I believe I know less. And this issue has an extra haunting and thrilling element. There is a lot of action this issue and you will be on your toes for the majority of it. The dialogue here is snappy, fearful, and to the point. Conversations move fast which keeps the story from slowing down, which in this case is very important. There are a couple of above-averagely worded pages but they were necessary and provide lulls in the action. If you weren’t already hooked after issue one this follow up will lock you in.
This is a very well-detailed comic that uses a large amount of colors. Each page is a delight to read because there is a lot to notice, but not to the point of cluttering. This story takes place on a sort of moon base with buildings like a movie theater and an arcade so nothing stands out too much. The main expressions you’ll see are fear and terror, the others just wouldn’t fit in this scenario. We see a lot of different faces this issue and though there is an amount of face sameness it isn’t bad and for the most part the individuals have enough defining characteristics. Just about everybody is wearing a skin-tight outfit. All genders. At least one of the main five ladies is wearing something that doesn’t look the most functional, but space material might be different. Prepare to see creatures of dubious origin that almost look like something you’ve seen before.
