Prey for the Sinner #3 is a comic created by Marat Mychaels with art by Sajad Shah and published by Counterpoint Comics. The last issue ended right before the showdown between Synthia and Graxxx, and this one begins with a look back at the first time Graxxx entered the Devil’s Den. This story is pretty much all action but it does have some key moments that’ll impact the story down the line. We also get to meet the warden of the prison who I’m sure will have a significant role down the line. Barring a couple pages this comic isn’t word-heavy and the pace is fast. This issue is exciting but it feels like this is just a primer for something bigger.
The art style is different from what we’ve seen but I like it. Our backgrounds are really only the prison and the forest and they don’t impact the pages much. There are expressions galore and they look great, from terror to shock to anger. The faces also look great, and there isn’t any sameness going on due to the low amount of characters on screen. Synthia is still rocking her same outfit from before but I just need to acknowledge the fireness that is her color scheme. With the purple highlights in her hair and the neonish green color of her weapons she really has her style locked in. After the opening this comic is pretty much nonstop action the rest of the way, and it flows nicely.
“Is this worth reading?”
Yes.
“Would I like this?”
If you like stories of women on the warpath for very justified reasons in a sci-fi environment you should give this series a try. But start at the beginning.
“What would this comic’s film rating be?”
PG-13.
“Could I get a quote from the comic?”
“Ok. This was not part of my plan.”
