Fox and Hound #4 is a comic created by N. S. Kane. This episode of the Charlie and Lena show was wild. We get extra info on Lena’s former life in Russia. Significant progress is made in the search for this “King”. They argue with each other. A lot. This is a very insightful issue and it reads very well. The back-and-forth between our leads is funny but can get serious when it needs to. The snide remarks are sharp and on point. The narration and dialogue is great but it can feel a bit wordy at a couple points, though you probably won’t mind. The story is paced very well and you will not get lost. This is issue four out of six so we’re nearing the end, and that means everything that happens hits a little bit harder.
This is the same artist as last time so the art is still excellent. Darkness and shadows are used to build up the dialogue and help reinforce the tone; this isn’t a happy time for them. The outfits look unaffordable and exquisite and fit each character’s style. All the people seen are drawn realistically and are very expressive. They make all sorts of faces so we can tell the tone before we read the words and their body language helps show us how they really feel. Moments of action are easy to follow and you won’t be questioning what happens from panel to panel.
“Is this worth reading?”
Yes.
“Would I like this?”
If you like ladies behaving badly with some fun gadgets going on personal Burn Notice-like missions you should’ve already been reading this. Prominent LGBT representation for those who’ve been looking for it.
“What would this comic’s film rating be?”
- The first three weren’t for kids, and I have a hunch these last three won’t be either.
“Could I get a quote from the comic?”
“Did everyone miss the joke that just happened, or are you guys ignoring me?”
