Miss Meow #3: Kickstarter Edition is a comic created by Merc Publishing. The last issue ended with the titular Miss Meow all locked up by her nemesis Katfight and goons being sent to her house. This issue starts with a fight. I’m gonna be honest here, most reviews I do of comics are in bulk since I’ve arrived to the party late but I had to go back and skim the previous issue due to having forgotten some stuff. Anyway, this issue has it all; action, sexual tension, twists, surprises, and confusion. I don’t know how many questions you had before but this I’m positive after reading this you’ll have more. This issue maintains the witty dialogue and well-paced narrative Merc Magazine is known and the plot keeps you on your toes. Not a lot of predictability here, which is tough to do in this genre. And in spite of not being fully fleshed out the main cast still have good impact. This is a violent, mysterious tale that will get you hooked.
If Merc Magazine is known for anything it’s their costumes/outfits. Unfortunately nothing we see here is really new to this series but they still look fire. I do appreciate how all the stooges look cookie cutter as they should. There isn’t much to say when it comes to location since everything takes place in what looks like stainless steel buildings. The action scenes are mostly easy to follow though I did get slightly confused when it came to the order of some pictures. When it comes to physical expressiveness of the character I’d say this comic does a decent job. Facially however it does lack. It seems like the only expressions they can muster are shock and anger. And sadly this comic suffers from face sameness. And no I’m not talking about the twins. The people(this comic is about 90% women) in this comic are averagely sexualized, with tight clothes and revealing outfits, but not doing anything overtly sexual.
“Is this worth reading?”
Yes.
“Would I like this?”
This is a comic about powerful women going against other powerful women for mysterious reasons. Superpowered(?) people all over the place.
“What would this comic’s film rating be?”
PG-13.
“Could I get a quote from the comic?”
“Amelia…what did they do to you?”
