P.O.M. #3 is a comic created Marcel Dupree and Joel Cotejar, with the story by Dupree and Guido Martinez. This story is about doing what you need to do. On one hand, Britney Armstrong might have found a way to be less broke. On the other hand Madison McDougal is in big-time danger. While those two ladies are the leads we do have another creature that is attempting to take center stage. The plot picks up right where the last issue left off so there isn’t anything to catch up on. The main fight scene has big brawler energy but it doesn’t last as long as it should. The dialogue here is excellent. The back-and-forth between the characters is witty, snappy, and full of snark. Some pages get little heavy on the words but the way it reads makes it more of a treat than a chore. This story is a nice balance of behind-the-scenes and upfront superhero moments. Included in this comic is The Unit Part 3, and this one gets real introspective.
Whereas the first two issues had bolder outlines and overall more thickness(heh), this time around things start to look a bit more like the average comic. We visit two main locations: A moon base that’ll remind you of the Justice League’s place and…the city. Once again we have very expressive characters and well-drawn faces. This just adds to their personalities and make the dialogue hit harder. We finally see Britney in costume and it is as revealing as you think it’d be. It fits her to a t. The creature of the hour looks like a cross between the Hulk and Doomsday. To go along with that look the action is very hard-hitting and everything looks like it hurts.
