P.O.M. #4 is a comic created Marcel Dupree and Joel Cotejar, with the story by Dupree and Guido Martinez, and art by Ariel Medel. Britney Armstrong continues to battle a monster as some shady things go on elsewhere. This comic plays out as one long action scene interspersed with the occasional look at how others are dealing with this event. Besides Stronggirl and the monster the only other character we get a good glimpse at is Miss McDougal. The plot of this issue is simple: Britney must defeat this monster. And as a result there is a lot of heavy-hitting and lifting going on. The dialogue is very sassy and snarky as these characters like to make smart remarks, and it never gets too wordy. This issue is where we really get to see what Britney/Stronggirl can do and it is entertaining. Also contained within these pages is The Unit Part IV. This is the penultimate installment and we find our heroes stuck battling their flaws and insecurities.
This comic is drawn with outlines thicker than normal which makes everything pop out more, and the coloring is a feast for the eyes. The main location is a downtown area ripe for destruction like every superhero movie after 2010. The smaller details on the street and buildings are nice to see. The expressiveness comes across well here, and the faces have varying details but show up when needed. Not many characters are featured here so face sameness isn’t a thing. While strong women in comics tend to look like your average model Britney here is muscled up. The monster here looks like a cross between Doomsday and Thanos with horns. The action here can get bloody and the destruction is heavy. And besides some comments made by Britney herself the sexualization of her stops at her outfit.
