Seeing Red X Three Thorns #1 is a comic written by Guido Martinez with art by Ario Murti. When an evil witch visits a new world it’ll take a newly formed team to stop her. This is a crossover tale combining two series with similar themes that results in something exciting. We have four leading ladies here: Ella, a warrior of the Kulling, and Gala, Seyelia, and Cayla from the Marble Citadel. These women find themselves working together against the witch Elidia, also known as the Demon Dancer. The story begins with a fight against the witch and continues to be violent throughout. It is very interesting to see the interactions between Ella and the other ladies as one world is bit more rough than the other. The action is very hard-hitting with some relatively light blood and gore but features some significant wounds. The story moves at a steady pace with everything playing out smoothly. Things do get intense but the odds never seem too thin. Though the setting seems a bit medieval all the dialogue is straightforward and easy understand. None of the pages are wordy though they might seem like that. Overall, this is a fun story featuring familiar characters that is sure to provide some excitement.
The art in this comic boasts high levels of detail in both the characters and the environment. The colors here are realistic and there is some significant shading done. This story takes place completely outside and the locations appear in the panels pretty regularly. I’d say the expression level here is about average; the characters do show a number of looks but they sometimes come off as a bit lifeless. This is due to the faces seeming stiff at some points. The faces do have a good amount of detail so it’s a shame the emotions don’t always come across well. The weapons used here are axes, swords, and bows. There are many magical effects that shine bright when they appear and have an ethereal look to them. The action scenes here are very violent and feature a good amount of collateral damage. You might get a bit confused during some sequences. There isn’t too much blood in the scenes but body parts will end up in different places. All five of the women in this comic wear outfits that are not suited for combat and they all have large breasts with the occasional nipple poking through. They are not sexualized in-comic though.
