Miss Meow #7 is a comic written by Aaron Sparrow with art by Nate Watson and Renzo Rodriguez and colors by Gaston Zubeldia and Adam Stone. It’s a showdown between Miss Meow and Leonidas in the middle of the street! This is a violent issue with a very large cast that is full of excitement as this series nears its end. Our leading lady for this tale is Miss Meow, a woman with both abilities and tech who is now in possession of Leonidas’ helmet. The main man for this story is Leonidas, the man who the helmet belongs to and the leader of the Spartan organization. Assisting him are Boy Thunder and Kerosene, two characters we haven’t seen in a while. Also present are the Bubblegum Blitzkrieg. The plot at its core is Miss Meow and Leonidas fighting over the helmet. There is a lot more swirling around but that is what drives the story. The action here is very violent and bloody but not gory. The pacing is a bit slower than normal as the story changes perspectives more than a few times and the tone is serious. The intensity is high and situations dangerous especially when focused on the Bubblegum Blitzkrieg. The dialogue is modern and angry with the mid-combat quips. No wordy pages here. This is a high-stakes and electrifying penultimate issue that is building towards what should be an explosive final issue.
The art style here is a blend of realism with very slight cartoonishness. The overall coloring is dark in tone due to this story taking place at night. The scenery is mostly houses and tall buildings. The atmosphere is one of desperation and it can be felt through the art. The main location for one half of the story is static but the other is constantly moving. The backgrounds more often than not contain scene elements but occasionally it’ll be bold colors with action lines. The expression level here is high with a wide emotional range. The looks are conveyed well due to the detailed faces with their various shades and wrinkles. There is some light face sameness here but it won’t take you out of the story. The weapons used here are bladed and/or ancient-leaning. The magical/mystical effects are bright and prominent. The action is bloody and hard-hitting, with well flowing scenes. The outfits are skintight and combat-oriented, though not all from this era. Nearly everyone here has the face or body of a model.
