Nothing-Man #8 is a comic created by John A. Rhodes with art by him, Laurie Foster, and Marcus Odoms. The fight between Nothing-Man and his brother Supremous comes to an end in this series finale. This is a superhero tale with a very large cast and a story that has been building towards this moment. The main man this issue is Nothing-Man, also called Hyperious who has a number of powers including flight and laser eyes. A couple of the women on his side are Diana, woman with matter manipulation and healing abilities and Firecracker, a woman who can fly and shoot flames. Also assisting is Fatgirl, Adrenalynn and the rest of the Freedom Strike Force. This story is full violence, reveals, and shifting allegiances. It can get a bit confusing and you might get lost from page-to-page so you’ll want to take things slow. The sheer size of the cast and the changing perspectives are part of the reason why some moments are puzzling. The violence here does show gore with light blood and some crushing attacks. The pacing is faster than average and the tone is serious with high stakes. There are some very intense moments but there are the occasional lighthearted ones. The dialogue is very hero-like with battle quips and shouted statements, but there are some deeper heart-hitting convos. This is a very unwordy comic. This is a finale that wraps up the story in grand fashion and provides closure for some characters while leaving the door open for others.
The art here is eye-catching, shaded well, and uniquely styled. The color range here is pretty vast but the due to this taking place at night we get a lot dark tones. The scenery is skyscrapers(some partly destroyed) against the night sky. The atmosphere is that of a cool, still night interrupted by all this violent combat. The location for this story is downtown Paradise City which has seen its share of conflict. The backgrounds tend to have part of the scene in them, which is normally the night sky, but sometimes it could be buildings or streets. The expression level here is slightly above-average with some characters going the tough stoic route and others not even attempting to hide what they’re feeling. Anger is the main emotion here with sadness being a distant second and happiness barely making an appearance. The faces are ripe with prominent features so all the looks come across clear. There is some significant face sameness here but thanks to the eye, lip, and hair color differences you shouldn’t(you still might) confuse anyone. Most of the women here share the same body type. The powers used are bright and stand out against the dark, star-filled backgrounds. The action scenes are lengthy and some blood and gore will be shown. The fights have good flow but a couple transitions might leave you a bit lost. The outfits here are tight and revealing with only a few of them being fit for combat. All the women here have large breasts and hard nipples are everywhere.
