PRINCE-S STARthief #4 is a comic written and lettered by Jason Martin with art by Jason Martin, Winston Young, and Ronaldo Barata. PRINCE-S battles her sister FIREbird in outer space. This is an action-packed science fiction comic that stars two violent women. The leading lady for this tale is PRINCE-S, she is a former PEP-C co heiress who has left the monarchy and is now being hunted. Her sister FIREbird has been sent to hunt her down and she harbors some animosity towards PRINCE-S because of the way she left the family and what she’s done since. PRINCE-S looks like Princess Leia from A New Hope whereas FIREbird has a Darth Vader-esque helmet. The story begins where the last issue left off with these ladies mid-battle. The violence here is bloody and brutal with some hard hits and a bit of gore. The pacing is a touch faster than average as this is all fighting and the tone is both lighthearted and serious. The intensity is high the entire time as there are many near-death moments. The dialogue is full of quips and comments that can deliver information or humor, sometimes both. It is very conversational with good back-and-forth. There are no word-heavy pages here. This is an issue that puts the story on the back burner and gives us nothing but violent action between a pair of sisters.
The art here is smoothly detailed with some slight cartoonishness. The colors here are primarily in the red and blue families with them getting both light and dark. The scenery here is just outer space which is a purple gradient dotted with stars. There are some asteroids floating about along with PRINCE-S’s aircraft carrier; this is the primary location. The backgrounds are either a color gradient, action lines, or the starry skies and sometimes it’s a combination of two or more. The expression level here is high from PRINCE-S as she doesn’t even try to hide how she’s feeling. Most of her looks are angry or painful. The faces have strong features especially the eyes and the mouth and this makes every look come across clearly. The effects here are bright and multi-colored and but they occasionally struggle to stand out. The violence here is mostly physical though blades and lasers and technological advancements come into play. There is some blood and gore thought it’s nothing extreme. The action scene is lengthy with small lulls but the flow is good enough that you shouldn’t get lost. Both of these ladies have large breasts and are wearing skintight one piece space suits with their thighs out.
