START AGAIN #3 is a comic written by Jaime Me with art by Neri Rearte. Ajay and Natalie are in hiding from the government and are looking to friends for help. This is a superhero comic that takes place in the UK with heavy drama, some violence, and plenty of secrets/behind the scenes moves. The main man here is Jump, real name Ajay. He is super strength, durability, and some fighting skills and he’s currently on the run with Natalie. Natalie is a woman who had a one-night stand with Ajay and she is now pregnant. This story begins with Ajay and Natalie arguing as Ajay keeps having hallucinations of someone he used to know and it is throwing him off. He’s trying to keep these past events and his present reasoning a secret but Natalie is pushing him to open up. There is some physical violence with light blood and no gore. The pacing here is steady with a superhero movie tone with fugitive vibes. There some violently and dramatically intense moments. The dialogue is mainly conversational along with some narration from an outside source. These characters speak in a UK talking style. There are no word-heavy pages here. This is an interesting issue that answers some questions and raises others as these characters look towards the future while dealing with the past.
The art here is drawn in a detailed, modern style with well done lighting. The color range here is very wide with more bright tones than dark. Besides one quick panel shot of a forest this story takes place in cities. We have scenes in apartments, on city streets, at parks, and in front of city hall. The backgrounds for these different places usually show the immediate surroundings with gradient/fuzzy colors rarely appearing. The expression level here is a tick below average as masks and hard looks are the norm here. We’ll see sadness, anger, happiness, and confusing. The faces have a decent to average amount of detail with good clarity so you shouldn’t be confused about what you are seeing. The violence here is all physical with a little bit of blood and no gore. There is only one action scene and it has a smooth flow and lasts a few pages.
