Miranda and the Secret Jungle is a comic created by Tim Sparvero. Miranda’s treasure hunting journey takes a turn when she runs into trouble. This is a fantasy comic with light violence, adventurous vibes, and comedic moments. The leading lady here is the demon Miranda, she is a treasure hunter with magical abilities who regularly finds herself in dangerous situations. This story begins with Miranda traveling to a location where an ancient civilization used to be in search of their treasure. Her excavation plans are interrupted by a hailstorm, forcing her to run for cover where she ends up taking a nap. This takes place in a bright and colorful world where supernatural and magical things happen on the regular. The violence here is relatively light but there is a significant amount of blood. The pacing is a mix of fast and steady scenes with a fantasy adventure tone. There are some violent and dramatic moments but nothing too intense. The dialogue is conversational with comedy and aggression and Miranda likes to talk to herself. There are no word heavy pages. This is an exciting and humorous comic with a leading lady that goes with the flow and who isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty.
The art here is drawn in a cartoonish style with a 90’s like vibe and well done lighting and shading. This has a very colorful palette with a lot of blue-green, yellow, and magenta. Most of this takes place entirely outdoors heavy cliffs, thick jungles, deep valleys, and lakes. The backgrounds are split between showing the actual surroundings and being a gradient color. The expression level here is high with these characters reacting strongly to most of what transpires. Emotions seen include annoyance, anger, happiness, shock, happiness, confusion, and sadness. Faces here are very cartoonish and they can get animated which helps the different looks come across strongly. The magical powers shine bright and tend to be either yellow or pink. Weapons used here are swords or daggers. There isn’t much in the way of significant attacks but there is a brutal moment that leads to a lot of blood. The action scenes usually come in 2-3 panel bursts and have a good flow. All the women here are curvy with large breasts and wear little more than a bikini the entire time..
