Lethal Ladies is a comic with the story by Marat Mychaels and Dolan Waddick with pencils by Andrey Lunatik, inks by Jagdish Kumar, and colors by Bryan Magnaye. These characters, snatched from their worlds, are going to be permanently canceled! This is a science fiction supernatural ensemble comic that features the lead characters from many Counterpoint Comics along with heavy violence, fourth wall-breaking meta commentary, and a nearly all-women cast. The protagonists here are: Notti and Nyce from Notti & Nyce, Jaclyn from Demonslayer, Baby Zombie and Candy from Baby Zombie & Candy, Battle Fairy and Yeti from Battle Fairy and the Yeti, Savage Eve from Savage Eve, Syn from Prey for the Sinner, and a guy named Nox(I do not know what he is from, so this could be updated in the future with a correction). This story begins with these nine characters standing before a being called The Woke who has gathered them together because they are toxic, violent, problematic, and a bunch of other things. The Woke wants them to beg for forgiveness on their knees but they all refuse to do it so he “cancels” them by sending them to a desolate world to be hunted down by Stance, the Watchdogs, and the Krns. The violence here is destructive with gruesome attacks and gore. This moves at an overall steady pace with some slower talk-heavy scenes and faster action bits. The tone here is like that of a high-stakes world-combining ensemble movie like Infinity War or Justice League. This is very violently intense with dramatic undertones as death is always on the table. The dialogue is aggressive with some humor and strategic direction. This has a lot of references to “woke” things like gender identity and safe spaces. There are at least two word-heavy pages. This is a thrilling and exciting comic that brings together all these different characters and shows off their various skills as they fight to survive violent cancellation.
The art here is drawn in a detailed 80’s/90’s comic style with strong lighting and shading. This has a somewhat large palette but most of the colors are dark in tone though there are some bright spots. The main setting for this story is the collapsing remnants of a devastated city. While most of the action takes place in wide open spaces we’ll see some dilapidated buildings that context clues will tell us used to be places like a museum, homes, and labs. Backgrounds are split between showing the actual surroundings, which tends to be crumbling brick walls, and being an action-line heavy gradient color. The expression level here is at least above-average as these characters have realistic and frequent reactions to these strange and dangerous events. Anger, determination, and overall aggression are the main emotions we’ll see along with shock, confusion, and satisfaction. Faces here hover around an above-average level with strong features that lead to clear expressions. The weapon variety is high including firearms, swords, chains, and explosives. There are some gruesome attacks that result in body part separation, loose guts, and a shockingly light amount of blood. This is more or less one long action scene that shifts back and forth between different sets of characters with a high panel count, a generally unconfusing flow, and a variety of dramatic, intense angles. All of these women are built like model with large breasts and they all wear tight and/or revealing clothing.
