I Summoned a Demon and She’s Kinda My Type Volume 4 is a comic written by Chris Moses with art by FKiller. Hajime and Hannah finally go on their date but they are interrupted by friends and foes. This is a sexy supernatural comic with powerful magic, cartoon-style comedy, relationship drama, and a nearly all-woman cast. The main man here is Hajime Iwasaki, he is a college dropout and artist who has been helping a demon he summoned find her body parts; if he cannot find them all within a year he will lose his soul. He also has the ability to use some demon energy due to the fact that he took one of Succi’s fangs instead of giving it to her. Succi is the demon in question and she is a rambunctious, playful, and hot-tempered with these traits leading to her having many enemies; she frequently voices her distaste for humans. Tonya is Hajime’s best friend from childhood and she’s a college student who is always optimistic and cheerful. Hannah is a college student and martial artist who has a strong interest in cryptids and walking around barefoot. This story begins with Hajime running late to his date with Hannah at the beach while carrying some coffee. After meeting up they head off to a cave that has an unusual amount of trash and while kicking a can they run into Agent Scorpio from the ZCA. She is in investigating the area because people have been going missing and there are mermaid sightings. This takes place in a world where creatures of myth, supernatural beings, and magic in general are very real. The violence here has some hard hits but there isn’t anything bloody or gruesome. This moves at a steady pace overall with fast action scenes and slower talking moments. The tone here is that of a hijink-filled cartoon with adult humor. Drama can be very intense with violence spiking here and there. The dialogue is very conversational with comedic back-and-forth, aggression, and some thought narration from Hajime. There aren’t any word-heavy pages here. This is an exciting issue where we’ll see riveting character development and intriguing story progression all wrapped up in a sexy, magical, and comedic package.

            The art here is drawn in a smoothly detailed cartoonish style with strong lighting and shading. This has a very wide range colors with the specific palette changing depending on the scene; blue, purple, and orange are the most used. Half of this comic takes place on a beach so there is a lot of natural scenery from the sandy beaches and caves to the ocean. The other half takes place mainly in the city at a bookstore. Backgrounds tend to be very stylized and rarely show the actual surroundings but there is usually something going on in the foregrounds. The expression level here is extremely high as these characters are constantly reacting to what goes on. Emotions are all over the place from happiness and joy to rage, anger, and annoyance; there are a lot of aggressive looks here.  Faces have a decent to good amount of detail with the potential to get animated which leads to just about every expression being clear, including the subtle ones. There is some face sameness among the women but you shouldn’t get them confused. Magical effects tend to have a neon glow when in use. The violence is hard-hitting but there isn’t anything gruesome or bloody. Action scenes are lengthy with a high panel count and a smooth flow with shifting angles and perspectives. All of the women here are thick and curvy with large breasts and/or butt. They all wear revealing and/or tight clothing and there are many lewd, suggestive, and overtly sexual poses and moments.
