Knight #7 is a comic written and lettered by Guido Martinez with pencils and inks by Mauricio Campetella and colors by Edgar Tavitas. Knight and his new allies go on the offensive against the Praetorians. This is a science fiction supernatural superhero comic with heavy violence, cultish drama, multiple factions, and a large cast of characters. The main man here is Knight he has your basic superhuman abilities like increased strength, speed, durability, agility, and stronger senses. He is in a relationship with the leading lady Whisper, she can fly and turn invisible; she is a former member of the Praetorians. Another former Praetorian is also on their side, the strong, large, and beast-like Dragonbreath. Joining them this time around are a superhero group with four members: The Shepherd, Requiem, Blue Shade, and Distant Justice. This story begins with the continuation of the fight between The Captain and Weapon on a rooftop. This brutal, vengeful, and barb-filled fight between two former teammates takes a turn Executioner makes an appearance. This story takes place in a world where supernatural beings and events aren’t too far out of the ordinary. Violence here gets very bloody with a medium level of gore. Things move at a steady pace with an “impending potentially apocalyptic event” tone as there is and has been a bit of scrambling around. This is equal parts dramatically and violently intense as everyone is on edge for different reasons. The dialogue here can be very quippy during fights and very direct outside of them with occasional thought narration from Knight. There aren’t any word-heavy pages here. This is an exciting and revealing issue with a lot of moving parts that sets the stage for a showdown we’ve been building towards all series. There is also a bonus story about Whisper’s past as a Praetorian that shows her first interactions with “Overhumans”.

            The art here is drawn in a detailed modern style that is a bit reminiscent of Bronze Age comics with realistic lighting and heavy shading. This is a dark-toned color palette with a lot of blue, black, and silver. Most of this takes place deep in the heart of the city so besides some trees we won’t see much natural scenery. Though this starts on the rooftops it’ll eventually travel to the city streets, warehouses, and secret lairs. Backgrounds usually show the actual physical surroundings like semi-trailers and street lights but on occasion it’ll just be a gradient color that is sometimes explosive. The expression level here is on the lower end as these characters like to maintain hard unflinching looks. Emotions go between anger and rage to sinister happiness and fear. Faces have a high amount of detail from the wrinkles to the hair with most of the expressions being very clear. There are a number of different weapons shown including chainsaws, firearms, stakes, and knives. The violence can get very bloody with gruesome mutilation and light gore. Action scenes tend to come in short 2-3 page bursts with a smooth flow and multiple angles. There are a few characters, men and women, who wear little clothing. A couple of these superpowered people are donned in something skintight.
