This is the fourth time I’m doing this in the year 2024! We’re gonna start off with some Southern horror, take a trip in a vehicle of some sort, go back to some horror, and after I don’t really know. Let’s get to it!

Mississippi Macabre #1
Mississippi Macabre #1 is an anthology of horror tales that take place primarily in early 1900’s Mississippi. Some of these stories are based on events that people debate the validity of as they tend to blend real facts with the supernatural. These yarns can be scary, creepy, and grim. At the end of this issue there are articles explaining the history behind each of these legends. There are also a number of comic advertisements for different places you can visit in Mississippi. The violence here is mostly physical with not much in the way of blood or gore. Most of the art here is gritty and in color with only one story being a bit cartoonish, and one story being in black-and-white.

Tales of Cape Fear Volume 3
Tales of Cape Fear Volume 3 is an anthology that focuses on ghosts, ghouls, otherworldly creatures, and beings that can’t be seen by most, if any people. Some of these stories are horror-themed while some are autobiographical and others are just dramatic with a heavy air of creepiness. There are also a few ads for geek-related businesses in Wilmington, NC. There is some violence here and most of it is physical and/or implied with very little blood and gore. The art is in black-and-white with more modern serious styles than cartoonish ones. This anthology wasn’t crowdfunded but later issues were, that’s why I’ve put it here.
“Which story was your favorite?”
Watch Dog and Convenience Store Creep.
“Which story had your favorite art?”
A Live Stream.
“How many stories are there?”
Fourteen, all four pages long except one which is three. There are five one-page ads.
“All those stories, can I get one quote?”
“I’d find this interesting if I didn’t think I was gonna die!”
“Have you ever seen a ghost?”
I think it was just my imagination.

One Comic To Rule Them All
One Comic To Rule Them All is an anthology full of stories inspired by the word “fantasy”. Some of these take place in a fantastical world with strange creatures, others play out in one person’s mind, and a few are about the clashing of reality and fiction. Most of these are dramas but there are also comedies, romances, mysteries, horror, and action-heavy tales. There is violence here which can be gruesome and gory with significant blood, though most stories don’t get to this level. There are more serious art styles than cartoonish ones and the majority of these comics are in color. This anthology wasn’t crowdfunded but it was put together by people who make comics that are.
