Dirty Work At The Crossroads #3 is a comic written by Joshua Metzger with art by Carlos Nieto. This is an action-packed issue where all the buildup comes to head. Like cracking open a can of some soda you’ve shaken up. Our main trio as seen on the cover led by Sunday Childs is finally going to make a move on Queen Mab. The plot here is pretty straightforward: kill the queen. And the action you will see is proportionate to how that difficult that task is. Shooting, stabbing, slicing, and the occasional pistol whip are showcased here. Except for one part during a lull in the action the dialogue reads fast and hits a little harder given the situation. Besides the previously mentioned moment there a couple other high word pages but the way it reads means you won’t be rushing to get through it. I though going into this issue I would get a bunch of questions answered but that was not the case. This series has quite a few loose threads and I am very interested in seeing how they get tied up.
Though we get quick shots of a few other locations the main spot is Queen Mab’s tower. Metal walls and very tall with a bunch of stairs. The main expression here isn’t so much anger as it is a grimace. Smirks and looks of resignation also feature prominently. Face sameness is a light problem but not too serious. This is a world where everyone dresses like bounty hunters from Star Wars or like Raiders from the Bethesda Fallout games. There are the occasional robes and sever lack of a top from certain characters. There is a good variety of weapons but these folk love their guns. This is a very bloody and significantly gory issue with body parts not being where they belong. The only person here with some kind of beef towards clothes is Queen Mab.
