Fox and Hound #2 is a comic created by N. S. Kane. This is still not for kids. Our new story starts minutes after the last one. Our ladies drop the cash off with Giovanni to complete their mission. That’s all I’ll say about the story because it is told in a slightly confusing way and I don’t fully understand what went on. We see the aftermath of the mission, we get a look into Charlie’s past, and lastly they undertake another job that ends being a bigger deal than they thought. There is quite a bit of heavy introspection. The cause of confusion was that sometimes the jump from panel to panel is jarring. One moment a person is crouched by an object, the next panel they are standing in a different spot. The dialogue is still good but it will trip you up at points. This isn’t one of those stepping stone-type of stories where it’s just setting you up for the next issue, but it isn’t a strong standalone title either. This is somewhere in the middle.
The art is much shinier now than it was last time. A darker tone as well. The city as a whole and the various interiors are drawn true to form and look like something you’ve seen before. The costumes are drawn with much more detail and look very professional. There aren’t many people seen on screen this issue so the uniqueness is almost a given but these ladies still find a way to stand out. Faces full of expression and character are prevalent the whole time, that extra glimpse into their thoughts help their words hit harder. This comic also has prominent LGBT representation.
