I Summoned a Demon and She’s Kinda My Type Halloween Special 2024 is a comic written by Chris Moses with art by Lucas Romero. A trip to the pumpkin patch turns dangerous as Hajime is targeted by Princess Pumpkin. This is a supernatural comic with lewdness, violence, a bit of horror, and plenty of comedy. The main man for this tale is the college dropout Hajime, after accidentally summoning a demon he now spends most of his free time helping her find her missing body parts. The demon in question is Succi, she is very sexual, is easily irritated, and she has a rage issue. Rounding out the trio is Tonya, she is high energy and she has been friends with Hajime since childhood. Joining them on this excursion is Hannah, she likes to be barefoot and is skilled in martial arts. The story begins with a look at what appears to be a regular routine for Princess Pumpkin before showing the group at the patch. Hajime isn’t having the best time picking pumpkins as his lack of strength and speed causes him to lag behind and end up in danger. The violence here features hard-hits and destruction but nothing bloody or gory. The pacing is a bit fast with a sex comedy-like tone. The intensity rises due to violence and different types of danger. The dialogue is very conversational with a lot of back-and-forth and a humorous tilt. There are no word-heavy pages. This is an exciting Halloween special that has these amusing and intriguing characters facing a strange situation in a new, seasonally appropriate environment.
The art here is detailed with a slightly cartoonish style that is very modern and there is strong lighting. The color range is pretty wide with a lot of orange and green. For scenery we have pumpkins as far as the eye can see. The main location is the pumpkin patch both above and underground, with below the surface scenes looking cavern-like. The backgrounds are split between showing the surroundings like the clear blue sky and being a gradient color, usually somewhere between red and purple. The expression level here is very high to the point where you could probably follow most of the plot without words. The emotions are all over the place from surprise, anger, horror, shock, sadness, rage, and confusion. The faces have a decent amount of detail and frequently get animated so you won’t be confused about the expression nor the feelings behind it. The mystical effects are bright green and they glow. The violence is physical, burning, involves restraints, and is a bit explosive. There isn’t any blood or gore. The action scenes come in burst and have decent, unconfusing flow. All the women here have large chests and thick bodies. There are many lewd and suggestive shots of most of the characters here, including the men.
