Minxx Cyberpunk Season 3 is a comic written by Pat Shand with art by Romano Molenaar and colors by Blond. Chased by both an android that looks like her and the police, the bounty hunter Minxx must find a way out of this situation. This is a cyberpunk story with all the bells, whistles, and electricity that comes with that. As mentioned earlier the star of this tale is a woman named Minxx who has been accused of something that she hasn’t done and she’s trying to clear her name. She has an AI assistant named Bastion who tends to offer necessary help. The plot picks up some time after the last issue with Minxx trying to figure out a way to clear her name as she is still being hounded by the feds. There is a fair bit of action here with most of it being electric and bright. This is a fast-paced story with fluctuating intensity from calm to high tension. The dialogue here is generally straight forward and humorous with a couple of pages teetering on the edge of being wordy. This is an exciting installment in a series that has paired great visuals with an entertaining story.
This comic looks extremely cyberpunk; the only thing it is missing is a neon sign. It is brightly colored when required and some things have this almost ethereal look to them. Part of this story takes place in Minxx’s ship but the majority takes place in the sci-fi equivalent of a big circus tent; so you can probably imagine what that looks like. This comic is decently expressive. It does the job well but it won’t stick in your head after. This is a shame because the faces are well drawn with the little details and are ripe for emotion. I don’t fully understand the equipment shown but there are blasters, things you fly with, and a dangerous amount of what I believe is electricity but could very well be something else. But all these effects look great and you’ll hear the sound effects in your head. The action scene flow may trip you up a bit but it is still a sight to see. There is one moment that may be tough to watch, but it isn’t anything crazy. Besides the outfit a certain character wears there isn’t any sexualization going on.
