Miranda and the Eternal Quest: Part 1 is a comic created by Tim Sparvero. After deciphering an ancient message a demon woman goes on a quest! This is a comic bubbling with adventure and personality while showcasing some eye-catching art. Our leading lady is Miranda, an intelligent demon woman who is very driven and curious. On this journey we will meet some mysterious characters with different motivations. The plot begins with Miranda rummaging through an old castle where she makes some discoveries that lead her to start a brand new quest. We’ll see her travel to different parts of the world and interact with varied environments. There is some light action here with no blood or gore. While there is nothing explicit here there are plenty of scenes rife with lewdity. The pacing is very steady and every moment runs its course with nothing feeling rushed. Most of the dialogue comes courtesy of Miranda who loves to talk. The tone goes from serious to humorous often which showcases her personality. She speaks like a loud, fun person but doesn’t overdo it as there are no wordy pages here. This is a fun debut issue that gets you hooked on the character and interested in the world and the mysteries within.
The art here has a slightly cartoony look and boasts a decent range of colors. The scenery and landscapes we see are very detailed and the backgrounds are full of things to look at and tend to persist throughout the panels. Each location feels alive with things going on around our lead and nearly each panel being full of different things to look at. The characters here are very expressive with the main one being Miranda. While the faces aren’t full of the most detail they show emotion very well which might be due to the cartoony element. Her range of expression is very vast, from shock to determination to disgust. The action scene isn’t long and doesn’t get nasty. Miranda wears very revealing outfits and gets naked pretty often; a few times when you least expect it. So yes there is some sexualization here but it all seems par for the course.
