Miss Meow #2: Kickstarter Edition is a comic created by Merc Publishing. This one picks up right where the last issue left off, except we don’t head back to the gala. We instead follow Miss Meow as she breaks into an Area 51 facility. You might not remember, but this is the first real look we get at the title character Miss Meow. We get to see some of her abilities and gadgets in action as she attempts to complete her mission. There are a bunch of new characters shown whose names we aren’t told, and whose powers aren’t yet explained. You will see some familiar faces such as Katfight and good ol’ Deathrage. There is quite a bit going on here as the plot has thickened up in various places so we’ll need a few more issues to get everything sorted out. But it’s looking like this story is about to take us on a ride.
The art in this issue surpasses the last. The various interiors shown set the tone for the scene as they look like a place you might have been to before. The Area 51 facility looms and stretches almost infinitely. The mansion we visit looks like something out of the fanciest magazines. This adds to the scenes and sometimes the characters in a necessary way. Speaking of characters there are a wide variety of costumes in this issue. Most of them are of the skin tight variety but they do look unique. And whereas the last issue had a face sameness problem this one does not suffer from that. Everybody has a different look and the faces are significantly expressive.
