Nothing-Man #3 is a comic created by John Rhodes and published by Hyperverse Comics. This series so far has had a decent amount of humor sprinkled in the story to break up the bleakness, but this is the funniest issue by far. We follow our “heroes” as they continue their journey to Paradise City as they attempt to put what happened at the hospital behind them. On this fun little road trip we get a slight peek into the backstory of a character and discover that there are other forces at play attempting to keep this tale of heroism under wraps. We also get to see new Hyprids in action, including one we haven’t seen or heard from since issue one. Though this issue does answer some questions or assumptions one might have had, it will leave you with more mysteries to solve. Also there is a good amount of action in this one, with a healthy dose of inter-group conflict.
Man oh man there are some good costumes in here. Though it seems all of the women are required to have at least their entire torso exposed. In spite(or because?) of that they all maintain unique looks and don’t get confused for one another. The way effects are drawn onscreen when powers are being used is excellent. Bright colors, alteration of the skin, airy shapes, all of these contribute to adding a slight sense of realism to the abilities shown. One of the hallmarks of this series has been the faces and once again that high standard was reached. They are very expressive and help move the story along while adding personality to characters. And just a heads up to any potential readers, this comic is lousy with hard nipples. Paradise City has got to be cold.
“Is this worth reading?”
Yes.
“Would I like this?”
If you like superhero stories where the current adventure has heavy implications go ahead and give this a look over. Also for those who like women-heavy stories, as there are easily more women than men featured in this comic.
“What would this comic’s film rating be?”
R, some people like to feel the breeze.
“Could I get a quote from the comic?”
“Seriously, can you shut your mouth for two seconds?
