Nothing-Man # 4 is a comic created by John Rhodes and published by Hyperverse Comics. There is a lot to unpack here. Like three suitcases worth. After being cornered by the opposition our ragtag group of heroes are forced to go underground, both figuratively and literally. Paradise City has a whole contingent of people trying to save the city and they would love it if Nothing-Man would join their side. In this story we see a bunch of Hyperoids and Hyprids(there is a difference, but I don’t know what it is) fighting, running, and loving. We meet many new characters with cool powers, but they all don’t get explained in this one. John Doe gets some of his memory back but not enough of it for us to fully understand what is going on. In spite of all the doom & gloom that would be present in a story about a besieged city there is a healthy not out-of-place amount of humor. This is easily the most revealing and revelation-filled issue so far.
These folk were in their bag with the art once again. The costumes of the new Hyperfolk are cool and have specific looks. We have some of the skin-tight variety and others armored up, and some(really just one) have chosen to go commando. When they use their powers the effects on screen are magnificent, with neon colors for speed, bright shiny for electric-based powers, and the dark glow of what appears to be some time of heat-based ones. The faces are once again one of my favorite parts of these comics. The way they help add humor to the story and personality to the characters is so important when you are trying to make a comic that draws people in. The hair in this story is very nicely drawn as well. Also, hard nipples galore. It’s gotta be freezing there.
“Is this worth reading?”
Yes.
“Would I like this?”
Superhero fans you should catch up on this series. If you love to see superheroines playing a main part in the story give this a read. There is an element of the many forces at work with different unknown goals so if you like that sense of mystery this is for you.
“What would this comic’s film rating be?”
R, folk was getting frisky.
“Could I get a quote from the comic?”
“Look, if you want to get shot, be my guest.”
