Notti & Nyce: The Return is a comic with the story by Marat Mychaels and Dolan Waddick with art by Marat Mychaels, Jacob Bear, and Sean Lee. Notti and Nyce take vastly different routes as they rush to complete a mission. This is a science fiction comic with light comedy, decent action, and two leading ladies. The first woman we see is Notti, she is dark-haired and has a bit more seniority with her weapons of choice are two katanas. Nyce is the blonde with two guns and she is more easily irritated then her fellow agent. This story begins with Notti jumping from a ship while Nyce is traveling in a sewer. They both hit snags en route as Nyce comes across a large security bot and Notti must deal with ninjas. The violence here is bloody with some heavy gore. The pacing is steady with action-flick tone. There are a number of violently tense moments and a few dramatic ones. The dialogue here is snarky and witty with good back-and-forth. There is one word-heavy page and a few thick text bubbles. This an issue that brings the excitement while setting the stage for future adventures with these notorious ladies.
The art here is drawn in a smoothly detailed modern style and plenty of lighting. The color palette features a number of cool tones, primarily blue and green. Besides some mountains in an opening shot there isn’t really any natural scenery here. There is one, unclear location with long hallways and a lengthy sewer. The backgrounds for these areas are split between showing the immediate surroundings and just being a cloudy gradient color. The expression level here is below average as these characters like maintain a tough demeanor. Some of the emotions we’ll see include shock, anger, and fear. Faces here have an overall average amount of detail which results in the different expressions coming across clearly. Weapons used here include katanas, firearms, and lasers. The violence features bloody and brutal attacks that lead to gruesome and gory moments. The action scenes sport a mix of high panel count pages and larger shots with an overall smooth flow. These ladies wear tight and revealing clothes with a number of lewd angles and poses.
