Perfect 10 #4 is a comic written by Dave Brink with art by Pow Rodrix and colors by Daniel Rodrigues. Max Magenta and Calamity hash it out as danger both in the present and the future grows stronger. This is a science fiction comic full of superfolk(called metanormals) with a wide array of powers on display. The main man for this story is Max Magenta, the leader of Division M which is the place where superfolk go to serve as protectors. The leading lady here is the chaotic Calamity who is the leader of the Prime Syndicate who regularly butt heads with Division M. Ten, the leading character from the first three issues of this series is present and accounted for but she has more of backseat role this time around. The story here begins with Calamity making an appearance in the city as the president pays it a visit. Meanwhile, Ten is still in danger at the Prime Syndicate headquarters. This takes place in a world with many metanormals, some of them being villainous, which leads to humans being wary of them. The action here is both bloody and gory with some gruesome attacks. The pacing is overall slower than average as there is a lot of talking with thick text bubbles that slow things down. The tone is serious and the intensity is somewhat high but it is much higher in scenes featuring Ten. The dialogue can get a bit hammy with a lot of exposition. There are more than a few word-heavy pages. This is an issue that fills in some gaps, adds new layers, and balances a large cast while still providing thrilling moments.
The art here is drawn in the modern style with smoothness and will give off some 90’s comic vibes. The color range is very vast and it would probably be easier to figure out which color isn’t present. The scenery is mostly tall buildings downtown in the city but you will see a lush forest by a river. The location changes more than few times from a building under construction, the Division M headquarters, and the Prime Syndicate’s hideout. The backgrounds are very well and usually have the location in them and not just solid colors and/or action lines. The expression level here is about average as most characters have a resting angry face and don’t deviate much. The range is from mad to angry with some fear thrown in but almost nothing happy. When a different look is given it is done very well as the faces are full of lines and details down to the teeth. Just about everybody here is ripped. The effects of some of these powers are bright and eye-catching which make them stand out on the page. The violence here is very bloody with some limb separation and insides on the outside. Things get very explosive and destructive. The action scenes flow well and have a good amount panels to showcase the moments. The outfits here range from the skintight to the armored though most of them are skintight. Some costumes are suited for combat while others seem appear to have chosen fashion over form. Every woman here has large breasts and looks like the average supermodel with varying levels of thickness.
