Prey for the Sinner #2 is a comic created by Marat Mychaels and published by Counterpoint Comics. Picking up where we left off our heroine Synthia Kemp is on the hunt for another person on her hit list. Agent Tate Snyder finds out from Kemp’s first victim where she’s going and heads off to stop her because it is too dangerous. This next issue must be something big because almost nothing happened in this one. There is a bunch of introspection for Doctor Synthia but not much else. We some scenes of her quarry on the hunt but the plot doesn’t really move at all. In fact the focus of the comic is more on who she is hunting than herself.
This issue shines much brighter than the last one, not many drab scenes here. Special attention is paid to the aliens’ features, emphasizing what makes them unique. There are a lot of zoom-ins and close-ups on the faces of creatures as if to drive the point home. This is a gory issue, there is hunting going on so animals are harmed. The outdoor environment lends itself to the story but doesn’t stand out. The all-so-important face expressions are present and support the story when they can, but their opportunities are limited. Overall everything looks good.
“Is this worth reading?”
Eh…
“Would I like this?”
If you like women led revenge stories, and don’t mind when they lull a bit.
“What would this comic’s film rating be?”
- Quite a bit of gore.
“Could I get a quote from the comic?”
“Tate. Stop. This is exactly what he wants.”
