Saving the World #10 is a comic created by Tonicmole. Wepwawet is forced to deal with people from his past attempting to mete out justice. This is a supernatural story that provides action and backstory with a potential glimpse at the future. The leading lady for this tale is Lilly, a woman who has been traveling through time with Wepwawet and is currently attempting to train a group of women for a future war. Wepwawet is a being that can change forms, has a skull for a face, and has other unexplained abilities like time travel and teleportation. Kierra, Nora, and some of the other familiar faces take a background role this time around. The story begins in the modern days with everyone meeting together for some combat training before Lilly and Wepwawet go off on their own. This takes place in at least a couple different worlds; some are present day and others are in the distant past. The action here has light blood and gore. The pacing is steady with some of the dialogue being poetic and detailed which can slow your reading up a bit. The tone is lighthearted at first but gets serious with some high intensity moments. There aren’t any wordy pages here but some of these text bubbles are thick. This is an issue that gives us some backstory on this mysterious pairing and builds up the suspense for whatever is coming next.
The art here is a blend of the standard realism and slightly cartoonish styles with the overall pointed detail commonly seen in black-and-white comics. The majority of this story takes place in the middle of a forest so trees and grass are the nature we’ll see. While there are a few moments indoors the outdoors both on the ground and in the sky is where this story will take place. The expression level in this comic is high which is the usual for this series; these characters can’t hide what they’re feeling. The range is restricted to primarily angry emotions but we do see some others here. Thanks to the slightly cartoonish element the faces show the different looks clearly and allow for more subtle ones to come through. The action scenes are of varying and have good flow so you’ll be able to keep up. The violence does get bit bloody with some gore. Most of the women in this comic have large breasts, and some of them like to show them off. Some outfits are more revealing than others. There is both a SFW and NSFW version of this comic that show varying degrees of bare nipples.
