Saving the World #11 is a comic created by Tonicmole. Kierra and some of the On Call Heroes pay a visit to their local comic book store! This is a science fiction superheroine comic that features comedy, violence, and a main cast of women. The leading lady for this tale is Kierra, after a strange event she obtained super-strength and the ability to heal at superhuman speed. Some of the On Call Heroes members who have accompanied her include Hobo-Girl and Unicorn-Man. The story begins with the grand reopening of the Hall of Heroes comic book store, where customers are in line attempting to make deals. People are both shocked and confused when the On Call Heroes make a grand entrance, as some of them haven’t seen Kierra in a while. The violence here is both hard-hitting and gory with some gruesome moments. The pacing is steady and the tone is like that of a modern superheroine movie. The intense gets high here due to violence and extreme danger. The dialogue here is conversational and comedic with a lot of back-and-forth. There are no word-heavy pages here. This is an exciting issue that treads familiar territory with newer characters, intense violence, and plenty of laughs.
The art here is detailed, black-and-white, and semi-cartoonish with good shading. There isn’t any natural scenery as this story takes place either in the comic store or outside of it on the street. The background generally shows other stores and buildings but it will occasionally just be solid colors. The expression level here is high as these characters almost never hide their true feelings. The emotional range consists of happiness, anger, shock, sadness, fear, horror, and plenty of confusion. The faces have a good amount of detail and the show the different expressions with great clarity and they can get animated at some points. The violence here is mainly physical with the only weapon being a trashcan lid. The combat has gruesome attacks that lead to gore but there isn’t as much blood as one would expect. The action scenes are lengthy and have a good amount of panels which helps things flow smoothly and without confusion. All of the women here have large breasts and most of them show quite a bit of skin before you reach the final page.
