Saving the World #8 is a comic written and illustrated by Tonicmole. Our heroines are whisked from their universe to the world of Sailor Ragowski with many cameos in-between. In this issue we’ll see a story pulled straight from a manga with the appropriate amounts of violence and stand out characters. We have three leading ladies this time around: Kierra, Nora, and the titular Sailor Ragowski. Kierra is a woman with various strength-based abilities, Nora is next level intelligent, and Sailor Ragowski is a like a militant magical girl. Watching these characters from different worlds interact is very interesting and funny. As mentioned above the plot sees Kierra and Nora going to a Japan different from ours and almost immediately running into trouble. Things get very anime as we’ll see ninjas, robots/cyborgs, and of course kaijus. The action here consists of many fight scenes and doesn’t get bloody or gory but it does hit hard. The pace is steady as we have a good balance between the fights and the talking. The stakes here start off kinda high and don’t really drop. The dialogue is still humorous and light for the most part until it is time for things to get deep. There aren’t any wordy pages here. This is a cool crossover issue that allows us to see our favorite team of heroines flex their muscles in another world while also showcasing Sailor Ragowski.
The art here maintains a delicate balance between realistic and cartoony. There is no color to be found here so the little details stand out much more. The majority of this comic takes place in what looks like downtown Japan with shops lining the street. Backgrounds infrequently persist from panel-to-panel. The characters from Saving The World are very expressive with nearly every part of their face lending a hand in showing their emotions. Sailor Ragowski had a war weary look to her so all we’ll really see is looks on the angrier side. The faces here are very detailed down to the teeth, and though there are light similarities between characters there is no face sameness. The weapons used here are blades, guns, and lasers. The action scenes vary from short to long and aren’t gruesome but can get nasty depending on how you feel about robots. The outfits are very magical girl influenced with references to popular anime. They can also be a bit sexualized but it doesn’t get out of hand and there are some nude moments but we don’t see any specifics.

Yes.
“Would I like this?”
If you like comics starring three superpowered women with two of them having been recently isekai’d and dealing with sci-fi enemies and kaiju this is for you.
“What would this comic’s film rating be?”
R. A lot of bladed chopping and some lack of clothes.
“Could I get a quote from the comic?”
“You know this is probably a trap, right?”
