Special Delivery Girl #1 is a comic created Luis Chichon. A delivery woman has many interesting interactions on her way to make a delivery. This comic has so much randomness that I can’t explain the plot without spoiling it. Our leading lady is an unnamed woman who delivers packages on roller skates while wearing a one piece. As a matter of fact, only one person in this comic is named. This is a story focused on clashing views and conversations that don’t go the way you think they will. You’ll be saying “What?” a bunch reading this. There is action here and it varies significantly but never gets too violent. This is a fast-paced story with scene after scene leaving you no time to address what you just read and saw. The dialogue is very quick and even when pages have a bunch of words it reads fast. Some pages might seem heavy but due to the way they are structured you’ll see that they aren’t. This is a good debut comic about a character with very strong opinions and a strong magnetism to unpleasant situations.
The art style is thick lines and solid colors. It’s sort of a scaled down version of your average comic is not lacking in detail. This story takes place up down a city street so the location variety isn’t too noticeable. Now for a comic where eyes on characters are a luxury this is a very expressive piece of work. Annoyance, anger, irritation, and doneness are just some of the looks you can easily see on these faces. The bodies here are well drawn and realistic which is necessary when you have the main lady skating around in a one piece. The action here pops up unexpectedly and looks good with great scene flow. Only once is a comment made on her appearance, and she is in a one piece the entire issue. That’s the extent of any possible sexualization.
“Is this worth reading?”
Yes.
“Would I like this?”
If you like plots that go in places you’d least expect starring a woman and taking place on a bustling city street this is for you.
“What would this comic’s film rating be?”
PG. Some action.
“Could I get a quote from the comic?”
“And how will you get me there? With your segway?”
