The Monster’s Cleanup Guy Volume 1 is a comic written by Drew D. Lenhart with art by Rowel Roque. In a town inhabited by werewolves the bodies are starting to pile up. In this area enveloped by the supernatural one man acts as the liaison between the Lycans and the police. That man is named Terry and he is unhappily working for the Lycan King named Damien. They constantly bicker about what to do next with Terry usually being in control. The plot has both of our leads going through an eventful night involving other supernatural creatures and an interaction with the police. There is a decent amount of conversation before the action starts. The violence here is very bloody and with the gory moments getting pretty nasty. The pacing starts off slow but speeds up when things get physical. This story goes from calm to intense rather quickly and maintains that high pretty much the whole way. The moments get very intense as the situations are life-or-death. The dialogue is straightforward but can sometimes seem disjointed in its delivery. It is very realistic and conversational though some pages can get a bit word heavy. This is a good comic about someone whose job it is to clean up the messes these otherworldly creatures make, and this tale comes with an interesting conclusion.
This comic is drawn in black-and-white which in this case means we get a stronger focus on the little details. Half of this story takes place outside, either in a residential area or out on a street. The other half has smaller glimpses of scenery here but for the most part things take place indoors. The atmosphere is tense and eerie with everything taking place at night. The expression level here is slightly above average with the faces displaying the current emotion. The faces have bags under the eyes, stress lines, and you can even pick out individual eyebrow hairs. When looking at untransformed humans we can tell that something is odd about them. The bodies here are drawn realistically and the more supernatural ones look like their classic counterparts. The action scenes are bloody and gory with dismemberment, projectiles, and hard hits. A couple moments may have you a bit confused but generally everything flows well.
