The Vicious Vixens of Dakuwanga #3 is a comic written by Ben Lacy with art by Nico Toran. These eight women are forced to take part in a dangerous expedition. This is a treasure hunting adventure comic starring eight women with strong violence and heavy drama. There are eight leading ladies here who use codenames for protection: Big Sis, the leader, Lil Sis, her little sister, Blondie, the big and tall American, Jamaica, the athlete, Knives, a brutal woman with a rough exterior, Fiji, a skilled fighter, Fish Hook, she has great survival skills, and Doc, a woman with medical expertise. There are a lot of strong personalities here. This story begins with a flashback as we get to see what Fiji’s life was like before she was abducted. Afterwards we see what happened after the ladies were recaptured and told about their new job, which involves a lost City of Gold. The violence here is brutal with some bloody and gruesome moments. The pacing is a mix of fast and slow depending on the level of action. There is a heist film-like tone here with a militaristic motley crew vibe. The dialogue here is mainly conversational with good back-and-forth and some occasional narration from Big Sis. There are at least three word heavy pages with a number of thick text bubbles. This is an exciting issue that raises the stakes and puts these ladies in another dangerous situation that they must work together to get out of.
The art here is smoothly detailed and drawn in a modern style with strong lighting and shading. The color palette is realistic with a lot brown, tan, and green, as this takes place in a rural area. For scenery we have thick green jungles divided by a dirt road and some shots of the ocean. The primary location is the outdoors from a villa courtyard to Peruvian jungles. There are some inner city scenes as well. The backgrounds usually show the surroundings which adds a bit more weight to each moment. The expression level here is high as the different looks can sometimes be louder than the words. Emotions we’ll see are all over the place with anger, annoyance, shock, rage, fear, confusion, terror, sadness, and pain. The faces have decent to good detailed so the different expressions tend to come across clearly. The weapons here include knives, staves, and firearms, along with physicality. There are some gruesome attacks leading to blood and light gore. The action comes in frequent bursts with a high panel count and a smooth flow. The women wear military-like clothing that is revealing in different ways depending on the woman.
