Unlimited Udo is a comic written by Adriano Ariganello with art by Valentin De Las Casas. A woman whose life has changed for the worse runs an extermination business for a different kind of pest. This is a sci-fi story with a dystopian feel that takes place in the modern world. Our leading lady for this tale is nameless but we do know that she is a former office worker who has been forced to take up a new line of work. Her personality is a bit dry, but she tries to put a smile on. Also prominent in this story is a man named Uno Dolos, a rich person who has decided to make a world-changing decision. The plot follows the exterminator as she goes about her day and we get a close look at how her world has changed. The violence here isn’t too bad but things do get very bloody and light gore. The pace is steady and the length is perfect. There are some intense moments but it’s nothing stressful. The dialogue is easy to understand and most of the words on the page are inside the exterminator’s head. No wordy pages here. This is a one-shot that gives us an interesting lead for this captivating and thought-provoking story.
This comic boasts stylized and detailed art with a mostly(if not completely) dull color palette which helps you feel the gloomy atmosphere of the story. The city this takes place is either on the West Coast or in Florida, as the palm trees and house style bring those places to mind. The location changes frequently and the interiors of the various buildings are full of things to look at with just about every panel showing something different. The expression level here is slightly above-average with characters giving us a decent array of looks. From feigned happiness to boredom to anger we’ll see how the emotions shown add more impact to the words. The faces are very detailed and a bit cartoonish so the emotions they feel tend to come across well. The action scene here is short with blood being very present.
