Unseen Sun: Chapter 2 is a comic written and illustrated by Christina J Moore. This issue isn’t as exciting as the last one, but still relevant. After a brief glimpse on the happenings of one of our many protagonists from last time our story focuses on the woman from the cover, named Selena. We see her in present time and in a flashback, letting us know a little more about where she comes from. There are a lot of poetic words and inner monologues here so those who like to think and feel will be pleased. There are two more issues on the way so this is somewhat of a bridge. My only qualm with this issue is we don’t see the continuation of certain characters’ stories, but I’m sure we will soon.
The art here is very unique in a specific way. Normally when you see a comic your focus is drawn to certain things on the page because of story or star power. Because of how “thick” the art is everything that is supposed to stand out does. There is less extra scenery so this makes the art style seem more to the point. The faces here are very expressive, this assists in sympathizing with characters and makes the words read have more effect.
“Is this worth reading?”
Eh…yeah.
“Would I like this?”
If you read the last one, and are planning on reading more you should pick this up. This genre is fantasy, so if you like that you should start this series from the beginning.
“What would this comic’s film rating be?”
PG.
“Could I get a quote from the comic?”
“Even so, I pity your misfortune. Take this.”
