We Are Scarlet Twilight #1 is a comic written and drawn by Benjamin Morse. It follows the adventure of one Captain Lancet in 1938 as he seeks to end the terror of the cult called Scarlet Twilight. Captain Lancet goes on a romp through the underbelly of Manhattan to accomplish his mission and while that may sound clean-cut and straightforward, rest assured this comic has a few surprises up its sleeve. With an air of mystery and interesting characters this comic will keep you paying attention. It also ends on a cliffhanger that’ll keep you on your toes.
The tagline for this comic is “A Thrilling Cyberpulp Adventure” and the art is true to that. A quick cursory search of classic pulp comics and it is obvious that homework was done. The slight faded look of the colors and the shadow work really help give it that old-timey feel. The costumes and other attire are quite apt and the backgrounds do a great job in setting the right kind atmosphere for the various scenes.
