Danger Jane #2 is a comic written by Allen Dunford & Mike Tener with illustrations by Anutkajpg and colors by Carlos Moreno. Jane’s work as a real spy begins when she steps on Xander’s yacht. This is a spy comic with strong film industry drama, heavy eroticness, and some science fiction-related mystery. The leading lady here is Jane Lawson, she was the star of the hit TV show “Danger Jane” but now she works as a stunt coordinator in B movies while hoping for a career resurgence. She has real fighting skills and spy-like acumen; this may prove to be valuable as she was recently recruited by the government to investigate Xander in reference to actors that have gone missing. Xander is an Argentinean film producer who acquired the rights to “Danger Jane” and he wants to make it into a film. This story begins with Jane hopping out of her two-door and walking across the pier towards the yacht. Upon reaching the boat she is greeted by Xander and his abrupt, rough-edged, and blonde assistant Katya. This appears to take place during the 70’s/80’s(or maybe the 90’s) judging by the outfits and the technology. Violence consists of punches, knees, and a little bit of blood. The pace is overall steady with some faster sections. This has a 70’s spy movie-like tone with some significant porno vibes. The dramatic intensity is reasonably palpable as Jane is trying not to have her spying discovered. The dialogue is almost all conversational with constant back-and-forth. There are no word-heavy pages here. This is a revealing and tense sequel issue with a story shrouded in mystery that shows us just how skilled Jane is and how sneaky she can be.

            The art here is drawn in a smoothly detailed relatively thick-outlined modern style with shiny realistic lighting and subtle sensical shading. This has a wide and vibrant color palette with halftone and Ben Day dots. For scenery we have the wide open ocean and some hills in the distance. A large yacht serves as the main location and it has a pool on deck, large bedrooms, a huge center room, and some side areas. Backgrounds just about always show what is actually there like walls and furniture. The expression level here is above average as these characters tend to react multiple times per page. Jane has an irritated look most of the times but overall we’ll see happiness, anger, shock, and confusion. Faces have a good amount of detail especially in the eyes with nearly every expression being clear. Violence is all physical with some hard hits resulting in a little bit of blood. The lone action scene is only two pages in length but it has a smooth flow and a high panel count. All of the women here are built like models with large breasts and they are usually wearing revealing clothing. There are also quite a few lewd angles.

If you like spy drama stories that star a woman who is a former TV star and that features some science fiction elements and erotic scenes then this is for you.
