Miranda and the Desert of Eden Part 1 is a comic written and drawn by Tim Sparvero. Miranda’s next adventure takes her to a magical pyramid! This is a supernatural fantasy comic with cheeky humor, memory-based drama, sapphic steaminess, and an all-woman cast. The leading lady here is Miranda, she is a demon with strong magical abilities who makes impulsive decisions and is constantly finding herself in sticky situations. She lives in a large castle filled with ancient books and artifacts. This story begins with Miranda getting ready for bed wanting to dream of a new place to find treasure so she can pay off her outstanding bar tab. As she floats through her dream she comes across a large pyramid in the Eden Desert and she quickly wakes up to assess the situation. This takes place in a world where talking animals, supernatural beings and all sorts of magic is commonplace. The violence here is grabby and physical but there’s no blood or gore. This moves at a steady pace with fast action and slower conversational sections. The tone here is that of a strange magical adventure with some mystery and a silly vibe. This isn’t too intense dramatically but there are some unexpected moments. The dialogue has constant back-and-forth, aggression, goofiness, snarkiness, and some thought narration from Miranda. There aren’t any word-heavy pages here but a couple of them do get close. This is an entertaining and intriguing start to a new adventure starring the always spontaneous, sassy and funny Miranda.
The art here is drawn in a reasonably detailed cartoonish style with decent lighting and shading. This has a very orange, purple, yellow, and pink color palette with the occasional splashes or blue. For scenery we have the rocky and mountainous Eden Desert where the pyramid sits. The main location is this large pyramid with many rooms, long hallways, and plenty of strangeness. Backgrounds consistently show the actual surroundings which are normally brick and rocky walls. The expression level here is very high as Miranda and others are constantly reacting, sometimes with vastly different looks per page. Emotions are usually aggressive or happy with plenty shock and confusion. Faces here are somewhat simplistic with large eyes and they can become animated with pretty much every expression being very clear. Magical effects usually have either a cloudy, puddle-like quality or it looks like lightning. Violence is very grabby and physical with no hard hits or blood. There is one lengthy action scene that is easy to follow with different angles and character perspectives. All of the women here have large breasts, butts, and curvy bodies; they all also wear tight or revealing clothes, if anything at all.
